B.B Tour / Dunstanburgh Castle and Farne Island Boat Trip

Dunstanburgh Castle and Farne Island Boat Trip
September 15 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Busy Backpack collaborates with Lundgren Tours, offering a fantastic experience of Boat Trip to Farne Island!
Come and join us!!

Description of the tour:

Dunstanburgh Castle – Once the largest castle in Northumberland, Dunstanburgh Castle now lies in ruin along the beautiful remote Northumbrian Coastline. Earl Thomas of Lancaster built it in 1313 as a symbol of the opposition to the King. The earl was beheaded before he ever got to see his own castle. Nevertheless, it has been used as a strategic stronghold throughout the civil war and most significantly in the War of the Roses where it was besieged twice by the Yorkist forces and left to decay

Farne Island Boat Trip to Longstone Island – Exclusive to the Golden Gate Boat Trips (only boat trip that goes to this particular island). A guided tour inside Longstone Lighthouse, the former home of the local heroine Grace Darling. Sail around the bird sanctuaries to view the wealth of seabirds, which nest on the Farne Islands and visit the Grey Seal Colony. Enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the coastline looking back at Bamburgh Castle for some unique photo opportunities
